Medicines & Diagnostics
All Adventure Doc providers carry an advanced set of medications, diagnostics and equipment that rivals any regular emergency department. Further, all providers are trained in their use and administration specifically in austere environments. The application and use of these medications and diagnostics allows us to diagnose, stabilize and treat most medical conditions in the field.
Advanced medications we carry are based on the needs of the group, geographic location, potential hazards faced, past medical histories and portability. Each medical kit is highly customizable and based on extensive research on the potential needs of the group or individual. In addition to emergency medications we are able to provide basic pharmacy services for “home medications” that are taken on a daily basis. Examples of these include blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetic medicines.

Adventure Doc field diagnostics are extensive. The use of POC (point of care testing) is utilized in additional to advanced laboratory diagnostics. Rapid field diagnosis yields rapid treatment and stabilization. Our advanced diagnosis also allows us to efficiently triage patients and asses the severity of their condition. Based on these diagnosis and our medical control consultations we are able to rapidly decide if the condition is able to be managed on site or requires transfer to a higher level of medical care.

Additional laboratory diagnostics are available as needed and should be discussed with our medical director. Adventure Doc also provides complete laboratory services including Complete Blood Counts, Chemistry Panels, Lipid Panels and Blood Cultures for medical facilities.
